Experience a Winter Side-By-Side ATV Tour

As we kick off the 2021/2022 winter season, beautiful late fall weather has created an unexpected change of plans. For a limited time only, we’re offering side-by-side ATV tours on our 6,000-acre private mountain near Vail! These adventures will begin on Saturday, November 20th, 2021. We will continue to offer these trips into early December or until the snow makes us stop – at which point we’ll switch right over to snowmobiling adventures!

Wildlife near Beaver CreekWhat to Expect on your Winter ATV Trip

Take advantage of this opportunity to experience a “WHOOHOO” inducing ride on your own side-by-side ATV, on our own private mountain that’s bigger than Vail ski area. Our custom-built ATV trails wind through open meadows, aspen groves, and bring you incredible views of the entire Vail Valley. Our guests often enjoy seeing wintering wildlife here on the mountain, including elk and mule deer.

Even though the weather didn’t cooperate with our plans to open snowmobile tours by Thanksgiving, we’re stoked for this unique opportunity. Our trails are in perfect shape and this is a beautiful time of year to explore the mountain on an ATV ride.

When will Snowmobile Tours be available?

Don’t worry, our grooming snowcats and our fleet of new Ski-Doo Grand Touring snowmobiles aren’t going anywhere. The snow will arrive soon enough. And like most years that begin with unseasonably warm winter weather, it eventually catches up with higher than average snowfall later.

Winter Off-Road Tours in Colorado“Until then, we are loving the warm weather, the mountains and the wildlife,” Sage founder, Darryl Bangert recently commented. “Mother Nature always does what she does. We do not put our desires over the reality of the vagaries of Nature, we embrace the world as it is, and it is stunning.”

Come join us on a backcountry side-by-side ATV adventure while they are available! You can learn more about our ATV tours here or give us a call now at 970-476-3700 to book your trip.

Experience a September Adventure in Colorado

September in Colorado

It has been a beautiful summer here in the Vail Valley. We’ve had a blast on rafting trips on the Eagle, Colorado, and Arkansas Rivers. The fishing on the Piney River has been excellent. And at our mountain base, we’re having a blast on horseback rides and side-by-side ATV rides with all of our guests.

As we welcome September, we’re thrilled for one of the best months of the year here in Colorado. The temperatures are still warm, and the September weather is idyllic. Cool mornings lead to warm, sunny afternoons. Soon, the aspens will be turning a bright gold. And wildflowers are still growing throughout the mountain meadows. This is where summer meets fall, and it is spectacular!

September Horseback Rides

Horseback riding here at our private mountain base is an awesome experience in September. You’ll ride through old-growth aspen stands and witness incredible scenery. And in typical Sage fashion, these are not your average nose-to-tail horseback rides. Being on a 6,000-acre private mountain means that we aren’t restricted to designated Forest Service trails. We can explore the entire place, and ride freely through this historic ranch that’s larger than the Vail ski area!

Side-by-side rides are also a great way to see Colorado in September. These rides also take place on this expansive private mountain, where you’ll have incredible views of the entire Vail Valley.  In addition to the adjoining public land, we have more than 20,000 acres of wild country to explore!

Scenic September Rafting in Colorado

We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the incredible rafting opportunities here in Colorado in September. River conditions are perfect on many of our favorite stretches of the river. There are a number of fun and incredibly scenic river trips to experience in September around Vail and Beaver Creek.

And finally, this is one of the best times of year to experience fly fishing in Colorado. In September, big brown trout begin moving in advance of their fall spawn. And rainbow and cutthroat trout take advantage of grasshoppers and big hatches of late summer insects as they prepare for the lean winter.

Fly Fishing in ColoradoIf you find yourself in Vail or Beaver Creek this September, consider yourself one of the lucky ones! Not only is it one of the most beautiful months of the year in Colorado. But it’s also usually a little bit quieter after the peak summer season. Take advantage of it, and find some adventure!

Ready For Summer? Experience a Side-by-Side ATV Adventure

ATV tour near Vail, Colorado

While rafting trips need no explanation and horseback riding is always a popular mountain activity, we often receive questions about our side-by-side ATV tours. You may be asking yourself: what makes these trips so special? Why take time to explore the Vail area in an ATV?

It’s a valid question. While many regular Vail and Beaver Creek vacationers can lay claim to at least one previous horseback ride or rafting trip, we get a lot of first-timers on our ATV trips. But after their first time, we can almost guarantee – it won’t be the last!

What’s so special about the Sage ATV Experience?

In addition to the exclusivity, what’s the biggest benefit of having access to this historic private mountain? We’re driving on trails that are specifically designed for side-by-side ATV adventures. These aren’t your average Forest Service roads. On private land, we custom design our ATV trails to be extremely entertaining. And that’s exactly what they are!

Finally, the Sage experience is special because we run new, top-of-the-line machines. Our Maverick’s offer outstanding handling and performance that makes the entire experience that much more fun!
