For the Outdoorsy Bride & Their Crew

Professionals in the wedding industry agree that the best bachelorette parties center around what the bride loves most. Although you do need to consider the needs and preferences of your group, the maid of honor (who typically plans this party) should keep the bride at the forefront of mind.

And if the bride loves adrenaline-pumping activities coupled with stunning Colorado terrain (and doesn’t mind getting a little dirty or wet), we have the friendly and knowledgeable guides to lead the group into a memorable experience. Whitewater Rafting

No prior experience is needed for whitewater rafting with us! In fact, we’re one of the best companies for beginner whitewater rafting in Colorado. We provide trips for all abilities and skill levels. Our beginner-level rafting trips (class I and II) can accommodate between 8 to 10 people per raft, while most class III, IV, and V rafting excursions can take 6.

We offer prime Colorado river rafting at 1-day excursions, 1/2 day, or 3/4 day – there’s no need to commit to a multi-day trip down the river, which can be rewarding but a lot, especially if you’ve never whitewater rafted or camped before.

Whitewater rafting is a teamwork-centered activity, with everyone paddling and working together. If your group didn’t all know each other beforehand, they will be bonded after this experience!

Horseback Riding

When it comes to unique bachelorette party ideas in Colorado it doesn’t get better than horseback riding adventure with Sage. Although there are other companies that offer guided tours with these majestic animals, what’s special about Sage is that it’s a true in-the-Colorado-wilderness experience.

Our horses, that live at Castle Peak Sage Stables on our 6,000-acre private ranch, are trained to ride alongside each other (as opposed to nose-to-tail in a single file line), and we’re on private land for our rides. In other words, we aren’t restricted to where we go – we can blaze our own trail! And, private trips are an option.

Snowmobiling

For a magical winter experience with the bridal party, give snowmobiling a try at our private mountain and trail system that is larger than the Vail ski area itself. We have several tour options available – everyone can snowmobile with us, whether you’re never sat on a Ski Doo before, or you’re an expert at the activity.

As with horseback riding, snowmobiling with Sage is not an out-and-back on one trail experience. Get out there and explore gorgeous Colorado terrain! Plus, there’s the added convenience of our log cabin with woodburning stoves and restrooms, so you can begin and end your excursion in comfort.

And, did you know? We here at Sage also offer side-by-side ATV tours and guided fishing trips, either of which would also be a great choice for a memorable bachelorette party in Colorado. Our Colorado outdoor adventures are perfect for an Avon, Beaver Creek, Edwards, or Vail bachelorette party.

Update on Snow Conditions in the Vail Valley

Snow Conditions in the Vail Valley

A warm, dry start to the winter here in Colorado meant that we were offering ATV tours into early December. But the snow has begun falling hard and we are now seeing outstanding snow conditions in the Vail Valley!

We’ve received more than two feet of snow over the past several days and more snow is on the way. After a balmy start to the season, the La Niña effect is finally in full force. The forecast looks like it will bring continuing snowfall for at least the next week.

Just two weeks ago, snowpack here in the Colorado River basin was well below average. Now as of December 27, the snowpack has quickly caught up and we’re currently at 101% of normal.

Vail Valley Snow Conditions

With snow falling and more on the way, it’s the perfect time to enjoy a backcountry snowmobiling experience in the Colorado high country! We operate on a 6,000-acre private mountain (that’s larger than Vail ski area!) where our guests are the only people on the mountain. You’ll enjoy more than 100 miles of private Colorado snowmobile trails, and our fleet of grooming equipment keeps them in prime condition. And there are plenty of un-groomed meadows for that powder-in-your-face experience!

Our guided snowmobile trips are perfect for groups and families. We have the best guides in the business. No matter your group’s age or experience, they will make sure you have a safe and wonderful adventure, exploring this winter wonderland.

Want to know more about what you’ll experience when backcountry snowmobiling in Colorado with Sage? Check out our recent blog post for an overview of these trips. Not sure what to bring or what to wear when snowmobiling? No problem – see our previous blog post on that subject. And of course, please feel free to contact us or call with any questions.

Enjoy Winter on A Snowmobiling Adventure

Snowmobiling Near Vail Colorado

When winter hits the Vail Valley, we can’t help but get excited for a new season of snowmobiling adventures! Vail, Colorado snowmobiling doesn’t get better than the trips we offer here at Sage.

It’s a magical time when the snow begins to fall. The snowmobiles are ready. The snowcats will soon begin grooming trails throughout our 6,000-acre private mountain playground. And our guides will start welcoming guests for our incredible trips.

Our Private Winter Snowmobiling Base

Having a base of operations on a beautiful private mountain near Vail, Colorado allows us to offer a snowmobiling experience that’s unrivaled. It’s one of our greatest points of pride here at Sage Outdoor Adventures. It’s a big part of what makes us different.

The Benefits of a Private Mountain Experience

A snowmobile tour with us means having access to 6,000 rideable acres. What does that mean for our guests? To put it in perspective, that’s bigger than the Vail ski area, and it’s entirely yours. The only people you’ll see on the entire mountain are other Sage guests. Most tour companies rely on Forest Service permits: they are forced to deal with public conditions and are restricted to specific trails and small play areas.

man on snowmobile with scenic background

Our riders get to explore the entire mountain. This mountain paradise has 2,500 feet of vertical, more than 100 miles of maintained Colorado snowmobile trails, and expansive meadows for open riding. Our base of operations sits at 8,100 feet elevation, the same as Vail and Beaver Creek Villages. Most of our mountain is north-facing, which preserves snow conditions on our trails.

A Base Cabin with Stunning Views of the Winter Landscape

Finally, the private mountain experience offers an unparalleled level of comfort. Whereas operators on public trails are forced to use temporary check-in trailers and outhouses, our guests enjoy a cozy cabin at our mountain base. Our base is nestled in a scenic valley with incredible views. The cabin is a great place for customers to relax, with wood-burning stoves, fully equipped restrooms, and a 5,000 square-foot deck overlooking the valley.

Private Colorado Snowmobile Trails

Trail quality is another major point of pride. Our crew sets the standard for excellent trails and grooming. We operate three Snowcats for grooming, plus five drag groomers that are pulled by snowmobiles. Trail maintenance takes a lot of effort and our team is the best in the business. On a snowmobile ride with us, you won’t have to worry about hitting washboard sections or nasty dips. You’ll be free to enjoy the incredible scenery and an experience like nowhere else!

a Private Mountain allows for an Exclusive Snowmobiling Experience

The best mountain and the greatest facilities wouldn’t mean what they do without our incredible team. Our people are still what make a Sage experience truly special – but having the opportunity to operate in such an incredible location sure doesn’t hurt!
