Sage Whitewater Rafting

For a thrilling experience that will bring the whole group together, Sage whitewater rafting is the best. We have three convenient locations close to the four rivers we raft, and we can accommodate everyone from beginners to novices. We raft Class II to V rapids for classic Vail, Colorado rafting.

Sage Side-by-Side Tours

Sage offers some of the best ATV tours in the Vail area on our 6,000 acres of private land – plus an additional 14,000 acres of public land. You drive your own machine, and the guides will lead the way to varied Colorado terrain and unparalleled views. We use the best ATV machines that pave the way for smooth riding and easy handling.

Sage Snowmobile Tours

Planning a Colorado bachelor party in the winter? Our snowmobile trail system is larger than the Vail ski area – with significantly fewer people. Enjoy the stunning sights of a Vail winter with your group. Snowmobiling is more about making memories than it is about the machines (although we do invest in the best modern snowmobiles).

Hiking Trails

There are plenty of hiking opportunities in the Vail Valley! We recommend Meadows Loop, a moderately challenging but not too long hike that comes in at 2.6 miles roundtrip. If your bachelor party group is made up of experienced hikers who are up for a challenge, check out Pitkin Lake Trail, a 10.5-mile roundtrip, out-and-back trail.

Camping Spots

Not surprisingly, the Vail area is also a top spot in Colorado for camping. Check out Gore Creek Campground in the White River National Forest, about six miles from Vail. Reviews tout clean amenities, fantastic foliage in the fall, and it’s also right next to Gore Creek, which is one of our favorite Vail whitewater rafting trips. For a more upscale, luxury camping experience, try Collective Vail, a retreat in Wolcott.

Kayaking & Canoeing

The Colorado River, Eagle River, and the Piney River provide excellent kayaking and canoeing opportunities. In fact, we offer a “duckie” kayak trip here at Sage down the Colorado River, where you can  expect Class II to III rapids.

Rock Climbing

For a challenging group activity that requires physical strength and a heightened mental awareness try rock climbing. When done in a group, rock climbing fosters trust, communication, and even problem solving. Pull, push, and hoist yourself to great heights at Eagle Climbing & Fitness in Eagle or Summit Climbing, Yoga & Fitness in Silverthorne. Both are about 30 minutes from Vail.

Bike Riding

One of the appeals of visiting Vail is the great public transportation and the ease of which your group can get around. Don’t discount bikes if the bachelor party is scheduled during the warmer months! Find bike rentals around Vail at Vail Bike TechVail Bike Hub, or Kind Bikes & Skis.

Golfing

If your group consists of golfers there’s nothing like golfing in the Rocky Mountains. The Vail Golf Club is a reputable 18-hole course at 8,200-feet elevation. The Beaver Creek Golf Club is another great choice, known for scenic mountain views and a well-maintained course.

Gondola Rides

You’ll want to balance your outdoor adventures with some relaxing activities, and a scenic gondola ride is a great idea for a classic Colorado excursion. Vail’s two primary gondolas are Vail’s Gondola One and Eagle Bahn, which take you up above 10,000 feet.

Skiing

Of course, we’d be remiss not to mention skiing. Vail and Beaver Creek each have their own ski resorts with tons of options for downhill adventures. Beaver Creek is more family oriented, so a bachelor party group might prefer Vail.

Remember, there’s no rule that your entire bachelor party or group needs to participate in every activity together, especially if there are many of you. Feel free to organize a golf outing for the golfers, for example, while the non-golfers explore Vail or opt for their own outdoor activity.

When planning your outdoor activity or activities for your Colorado bachelor party, use a tool like SurveyMonkey to have your participants vote on their top picks. Make sure to leave plenty of time to plan and coordinate everyone’s schedules. Then, prepare for your Colorado outdoor adventure!
